Winter photography trip
So I'm sitting around in sub-freezing temperatures thinking to myself what can I do to get me out of the house for awhile. Those of you that know me know that there's almost anywhere I would rather be than inside - no matter what temperature it is!
A couple of friends of mine and I packed up our gear and headed into the Red River Gorge to do some shooting and hiking. I've been experimenting with some interesting photography techniques so I thought I would share some of the results. It was about 17 degrees so batteries in the cameras didn't last long. Anyway, it was a fun trip so the next day I went back. That time I took Jessica and Kyle with me. We had a pretty good time and I think they learned that being out in freezing temperatures isn't so bad as long as you have something beautiful to look at.

Gypsy's Leisure
A Motorcycle Blog

Repairs completed and weather warming, I packed the tent and sleeping bag on the bike and took off for an
overnight to the Red River Gorge Geological Area. Renowned for the well preserved sites of prehistoric peoples
who lived and traveled through this area, the Gorge contains the largest concentration of natural rock shelters
in the eastern United States.

Red River Gorge & Natural Bridge State Park
These are from this past weekend. I really had a good time & loved the area. It is located right where Kentucky starts getting mountainous and it was new to me even though it is only about 45 minutes from here. KY is geologically very interesting and there are a lot of great rock formations and caves. I want to make a habit of visiting and am really looking forward to seeing it in the Autumn. But before that I want to swim in the river! It looked heavenly.

Red River Gorge, Sky Bridge
And so the adventure continues! As you may remember we had driven through Nada Tunnel into the Red River Gorge. We made a stop at the Gladie Historic Site and had a lovely, leisurely picnic. Then we were back on the windy roads to discover Sky Bridge! We had intended to see Natural Bridge as well on a different day, but as you will discover later, copious amounts of rain put the nix on that! But for this day, the sky was blue and the breezes were fair! And we were even on the right road!
